Our Story

Since 1968, Boston Financial has helped over 1,500 young companies in the US to lease essential equipment.

The red bow tie

The bow tie icon in our logo is a nod to our founder, Sonny Monosson, who wore a bow tie since the day he graduated from Harvard business school. It was his signature style and he never went a business day without it. Sonny was a bold, approachable, one of a kind business man who never hesitated to take risks and listened to good ideas, no matter how out of the box they might seem.

His teaching, entrepreneurial experience, and innovative thinking instilled our core values:

  • Listen. We want to hear your unique story and understand your company’s purpose and goals.

  • Recognize potential. We look beyond your company’s status to see your true financial footing and viability. Pre-revenue start-ups are welcome.

  • Communicate with candor. We are upfront about our process and decision-making. Our transparency and timely communication are among the reasons lessees return to us when they need additional equipment.

  • Support and encourage. Growth takes time. We’re in your corner to help you get the equipment you need and to find solutions if you face unforeseen events.

Sonny passed away in 2003. Our logo honors Sonny’s red bowtie and sparks fond memories of him. He would be proud of his well-trained team who have continued to practice his values and support early-stage companies.
